EXODUS - IRAQI BROTHERS RECEIVED WELCOME PACK FROM ST. GILES REFUGEE MINISTRY
April 9, 2009
Four brothers from Iraq who were recently resettled as refugees in Skokie received a "Welcome to America! Pack" on April 9. The bedroom,
bathroom and kitchen items were donated by St. Giles parishioners and delivered by two members of the Men's Society, Pat Carew and Brent Showalter.
The Newcomers were delighted that a Catholic Church wanted to help them. The brothers fled
their homes, their careers, and their way of life because of murderous
attacks on Christians in their region.
Just prior to coming to the US they had been living in Jordan as refugees.
Please continue to donate items for our ongoing Welcome Pack
collection program so that we can serve more refugee families like the
Iraqi brothers as they are resettled in the Chicago area. Please see our Exodus Refugee Ministry page for more information.
