EXODUS - "Welcome to America! Pack" to a Family of Eritrean Refugees

Parishioner Kathleen Mullaney and a group of Dominican University honor students delivered a "Welcome to America! Pack" to a family of Eritrean refugees. The family, who are Eritrean Orthodox Christians, were forced to flee their homeland in 2002 when war with Ethiopia broke out. They lived in the Shimelba refugee camp in Ethiopia until being resettled in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago.

The Dominican students' Welcome Pack was comprised largely of good donated by the St. Giles community. They plan to assemble additional Welcome Packs for other refugee families now that they understand what a great experience refugee service can be!
