St Giles Parish invites all to a
Lenten Parish Mission:
Walking with Jesus in the Gospel of Mark
- He cleanses the temple of money changers
- He meets with Nicodemus at night
- He speaks of the seed “falling to the ground and dying”
Megan McKenna, well known author, theologian, storyteller and lecturer, will lead us through the Sunday Gospels of Lent. Learn what these gospel stories have to say about conversion, morality, economics, service, compassion and living an authentic life today.
Come for one, two or all three nights of the mission and be enlightened and challenged by Megan’s dynamic presentation of these powerful gospel passages.
Sunday, February 26 through Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 7 pm in Saint Giles Church
What is a Parish Mission?
A parish mission is a preaching event conducted on consecutive evenings. The preaching centers on the Word of God as well as Catholic doctrine and Catholic practice. This preaching emphasizes an individual’s personal relationship with the Lord, a deeper sense of the parish community, and a greater consciousness of service within this community.
 To enhance our experience of the season further, the contemplative mass will be restored at the 5 pm Mass on the Sundays of Lent in March.
The Contemplative Mass employs candles and soft music to create an environment which honors silence.
Words are kept to a minimum.
We need willing volunteers to set up the environment each week.
