Outreach Ministries - Easter Sunrise Shoeboxes

LENTEN OPPORTUNITY

This is a Lenten Outreach Opportunity that starts on Ash Wednesday and ends on Palm Sunday. We will post the dates for the Year 2011 in the future.

In 2010, 497 boxes were donated and sent to the Franciscan Outreach Association - www.franoutreach.org.

The purpose is to fill a shoebox (you provide shoebox) with a variety of the following suggested items to be given to an Outreach Association:

Tube Socks Hotel Size - Soap and Shampoo
Kleenex (small packages) Brush and / or Comb
Plastic Rain Poncho Deodorant
Wash / Face Cloth Small Towel
Toothbrush / Toothpaste Razor
Baby Powder Hand Lotion
CTA Fare Cards (for two rides) Other Small Items

Gift Card from McDonald's, Burger King, etc... Not to exceed $5.00
World Search or Crossword Puzzle Book and Pen (please be sure to include this)
Plastic Easter Egg filled with Candy (please be sure to include this)

When a shoebox is filled, put a rubber band around it, mark the box either "Man" or "Woman" and place the shoebox in the container provided in the Gathering Space in Church, at the Lenten Soup Suppers in the McDonough Hall, drop it off at the Parish Center or leave it in the School Office. You could also decorate the outside of the box if you wish. These boxes do make a difference in peoples' lives! Thank you for caring and participating!!!
