Parish Block Party – Saturday Night Out 2019

October 5, 2019

The weather did not cooperate with our St. Giles “Saturday Night Out” on October 5, 2019. However, the rain that came did not deter those who were determined to join us. In the dry confines of McDonough Hall, people brought up delicious food, had a drink and listened to the lively music of our live Zydeco band! In the end, it was a fun evening enjoyed by those who attended. Thanks to all who came to support this event.

Also we had a All-School Alumni Gathering during this event. Despite the rain, we had more than 15 alumni and former parents stop by our alumni area at the Parish Block Party! We had yearbooks, class plates, graduation booklets and more on display – we even had some St. Giles trivia! Everyone had a good time!

Thank you to Marrey Picciotti, Sherry Spencer, Mike Moroney, Ellen Griffin, Larry Wardzala and the many volunteers who helped pull off this first-of-a-kind event. At the heart of our gathering was the idea that breaking bread forms community. We gathered to break open the Bread of God’s Word, and share the Bread of the Eucharist, Jesus, at our special Mass. That Bread was then shared around the tables were we sat together to enjoy food. Mission accomplished!!

Thanks to all for the many ways you support our parish community and the small and large things you do to help keep us vibrant and strong.
