July Courtyard Concert 2020

July 24, 2020

Since there is not much happening in the way of entertainment and festivities during the Coronavirus Pandemic, we had this idea of using our courtyard to gather a small, socially distanced group to enjoy some music during July, August and September 2020.

On Friday, July 24, we featured an intimate chamber music performance by parishioners Susan Warner, David Griffin and their children Henry and Pearl. They brought a bit of Ravinia to our parish! David plays the French horn in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Susan is a clarinetist in the Lyric Opera of the Chicago Orchestra. Many parishioners recognize Henry who often would cantor at our 11:15 am Mass. He is presently a voice major at the Manhattan School of Music. Pearl is an eighth-grader who sings with the Chicago Children’s Choir and plays piano, harp and clarinet. We are blessed to have them as members of our parish and grateful that they were willing to perform a classical music repertoire for us by composers Schubert, Schumann, Debussy, Bernstein, and others.
