St. Francis Annual Blessing of Pets 2017

On a beautiful, sunny afternoon, many creatures, great and small, accompanied by their human families, came together to celebrate and receive a special blessing on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, Patron of Animals. Deacon Gerry blessed a Guinea Pig, 2 Geckos, 4 Cats and 25 Dogs – all beautiful and well-mannered. Our usual pet choir was missing this year!

THANK YOU to all the pet owners who generously donated dog and cat food, pet toys, a dog crate, hand soap, and monetary donations to the special collection for the Oak Park Animal Care League. Your generosity is most appreciated by all those beautiful and lonely animals waiting for a forever home. A very special THANK YOU to Carol Rossi who loaded up her car once again this year and delivered all the donations received to the Oak Park Animal Care League. What a great help this was to us!

May God continue to bless all living creatures – big and small!
