Healing Prayer, Healing Song: An Ecumenical Service to Pray for Healing

Join us on Sunday evening, April 16, at 7 pm at Ascension Church as we continue our new ecumenical prayer outreach. The service includes scripture, healings songs from various traditions, shared silence, healing prayers, with the opportunity for individual prayer, laying on of hands, and anointing for those who wish to partake. The service is offered on the third Sunday of each month through May.

David Anderson is coordinating this monthly prayer as he has for the monthly first Friday In the Spirit of Taizé service for the past 30 years. The Ascension Choir and Music Ministry provides musical support and songs of healing at the service. An ecumenical and multi-cultural prayer team of pastors and other laypersons/pastoral care minsters has been formed to assist in this ecumenical outreach of prayers for healing, wholeness, and unity in our world.

As an ecumenical service, we recognize the unifying power of Christians from different traditions, coming together as one, to intentionally pray for the healing of divisions and for a deepening of unity in our world. The service will be live-streamed. Future service will also be offered on May 21.
