Providing a “Day of Meals” for Housing Forward
Last year, the CCW committed to providing a day of meals once per month for the Housing Forward Emergency Overnight Shelter at the St. Catherine – St. Lucy Campus. The Emergency Overnight Shelter is a year-round, seven day a week shelter that houses up to 20 individuals experiencing homelessness. This shelter model replaces the rotating congregation model that Housing Forward had previously used.
As a year-round effort, there is a tremendous need for volunteers. CCW is assigned one day per month where volunteers can sign up and deliver elements of a hot dinner, bottled waters (enough for all three meals), bagged lunches, or breakfast for the next day.
We invite you to sign up individually or share responsibility for a meal or two with a friend, your family, book club, co-workers, etc. The need is great.
