Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) in English – Have you or someone you know thought about officially joining the Catholic Church? Have you decided you want to become Catholic but are not sure where to start? The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is a process to guide you in your discernment as well as a pathway to become Catholic.
The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a process designed for adults who are coming to the Catholic faith from another faith tradition, have been baptized in the Catholic faith, but have not received any other Sacraments, or have not been baptized in any particular faith tradition.
The RCIA process allows you to journey through the full liturgical year and the timeline can vary from person to person as to the readiness of reception of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist) at the Easter Vigil.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Children and Teens (RCIC) in English – Do you know a person between the ages of 14 and 19 who hasn’t completed their sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist)?
If so, please contact Marci Madary at 708-383-3430 ext 404 or mmadary@spiritandlightcenter.org. We would like to have classes to prepare young people to receive these sacraments and need to assess interest and need.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) in Spanish – ¿Quiere Recibir los Sacramentos? – ¿Qué es RICA o Rito de Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos?
Las clases de RICA son parte de la catequesis que ofrece nuestra parroquia y está orientada a aquellas personas adultas de 18 años en adelante que desean aprender más acerca de la Iglesia Católica Romana y ser miembros en plena comunión con la Iglesia. En este bonito caminar aprendemos a ver como la iglesia ve a la persona en su semejanza e imagen de Dios, qué importancia tiene la vida cristiana para nuestra comunidad, usamos el catecismo de la iglesia, la Biblia y folletos . Los temas que estudiamos son muy variados, algunos de ellos son:

- EL CREDO
- EL REZO DEL SEÑOR Y SUS PETICIONES
Este camino de Fe termina su jornada en la Vigilia Pascual – Sábado Santo – celebración muy solemne en la cual no sabemos si es el cielo que baja o es la Iglesia que sube. La iglesia te espera, no faltes! Si usted es bautizado/a y no ha hecho la primera comunión ni confirmación le invitamos a la oportunidad de continuar aprendiendo más sobre su fe.
