Traditional Religious Education Update

January 2017

Before Christmas, all of the students took part in our annual Jesse Tree filled with ornaments of symbols from the Old Testament stories. What an excellent review of Bible stories. We also had a very successful close to our Open Book Advent Service Project – thanks to everyone who donated!!

We are currently working on our third unit for the year. All of our grade sessions review a chapter theme within a unit accompanied by two to four station activities. Look to see more interesting projects coming home in 1st through 4th grade with the inclusion of Expand the Experience activities. In 6th through 8th grade we continue to learn about the Bible, how to find things as well as read and understand it. See the photos below of our 7th & 8th graders working on a Bible activity and creating a cathedral out of index cards. Check out the TRE webpage for parent resources and up-to-date information.

Finally, thank you to all the parents that took time out this past week to come with their disciples during our TRE Parent Open House. We enjoyed your participation in prayer services, a battle of Jeopardy, making Epiphany door blessings, Bible search activities and adding to our class discussions. For those who were unable to attend, we welcome you to come and join us anytime.
